Andy is an open-source technical leader who loves facilitating teams to solve big problems at the intersection of software, learning, and social impact. He brings 20 years’ experience delivering effective solutions to the corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors and 15 years’ experience as an open-source builder, teacher, and leader.
Since 2012 Andy has led customer success programs at Acquia, the leading open-source cloud provider for digital experiences. From 2012–2015 he led and innovated program delivery in Acquia’s Technical Account Management practice, supporting some of the world’s highest-traffic and most complex Drupal applications with expert consultancy. Since 2016 he has directed Acquia’s worldwide Learning Services & Technical Certification programs, training and certifying thousands on Drupal and associated open source technologies.
Prior to joining Acquia Andy spent several years applying Drupal to several social impact causes: notably as a Tech Lead for CivicActions (2010-2012) and as Technology Director for the Quixote Center, a multi-issue social justice organization (2004-2008).
Equally at home in the worlds of software, liberal arts, and issue-based advocacy, Andy believes that blockchain technology can fundamentally transform several aspects of business, governance, society – and that vigilance and voice is required to ensure these transformations are in the service of a more just, equitable, and compassionate world.
